- A file's Finder flags are displayed in the File Info window and in the Flags view of the File List. Shown left to right, the flags are:

- 0: Desktop
- 1: bFOwnAppl (reserved)
- 2: (reserved)
- 3: (reserved)
- 4: never Switch Launch (unused)
- 5: always Switch Launch
- 6: application Shared
- 7: Cache
- 8: Inited
- 9: Changed
- 10: Busy
- 11: NoCopy (BOZO)
- 12: System
- 13: Bundle
- 14: Invisible
- 15: Locked

- These flags determine ways the Finder treats the file. Unless you understand their purpose, it's best to leave the Finder flags alone.
